The most requested film for outdoor and drive-in cinemas this year has been the much anticipated sequel to Top Gun, Maverick.  From the cinema release this year, after the 2 year delay due to Covid, the top request has been Maverick for pop-up and drive-in cinemas.  Now, from 31 October 2022 we are pleased to say here at Ellievision AV we can organise your film license for outdoor and drive-in cinemas for Maverick. 

We pride ourselves on offering to our pop-up cinema customers film licensing if needed.  We have a feeling that we will be booking Maverick for our customers who hire us to deliver their outdoor cinemas and drive-in cinemas on a regular basis in 2023. 

Each year there’s one key film that seems to be very popular.  In the past it’s been Bohemian Rhapsody, The Greatest Showman and for 2023 likely to be Maverick.  The original Top Gun is no longer on embargo from film licensing, so we’re expecting plenty of pop-up cinema and drive-in cinema requests for Top Gun too.

What a difference a year makes, or at the moment, even a day.  Since the government announced drive in cinemas from 15^th June and outdoor cinemas from 4^th July in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, many people have been considering putting on either a drive-in cinema or outdoor cinema with social distancing measures in place.  There are many aspects to consider if you are thinking about going down this route and here at Ellievision AV we are here to help having successfully run outdoor cinemas for some amazing clients.

What’s the future for outdoor events post COVID-19

We all love the good old British summer.  Strawberries and cream out on the lawn, Pimms and lemonade watching Wimbledon, everyone crammed together like sardines on Henman Hill or dancing in the mud at Glastonbury with your friends.  One thing is for sure, in the UK we welcome our outdoor events and a chance to join in with the crowds, whether it’s for music, sport or films.  It seems to be what the summer was made for but it’s all a bit different in the summer of 2020.

At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ellievision AV were proud to assist. Over the past few weeks the UK has seen an unprecedented amount of support for the NHS and front line workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The clap for our carers on a Thursday evening showed a real sense of community and solidarity with those on the front line, the NHS workers, social care workers, delivery drivers, postal workers, teachers, shop workers, all hero’s in the nation’s eyes.  Something so simple had such a big impact.    

As an industry, the events sector has been rocked by COVID-19, but that hasn’t stopped the spirit of those in the industry.  Many audio visual businesses, unable to work, were more than happy to join the nation on Thursday evening, lighting up a wide range of buildings.  It was heart-warming to see such a visually impactful shows of support with the lighting of iconic buildings and monuments in blue.

On the evening of Thursday 9^th April, Ellievision AV were proud to assist in kind with the lighting up of the intu shopping centre in Milton Keynes.  In a show of solidarity and support for the NHS and key workers on the front line fighting COVID-19, Ellievision AV turned the shopping centre blue for the evening.
